Step 3 = Stop making your bed!
This will be hard for some of you, to others (especially those with teenagers in the house) it will be a welcome change.
When we sleep at night we release moisture through the pores in our skin, into the bedclothes (we could call it 'sweat' but let's just stick with 'release moisture'). Warm, damp, dark places are where (odour-producing) bacteria love to be. Oh dear...
So, every morning, throw back the bed covers and let the air circulate. It is best to leave the covers thrown back all day. For those of you who formerly loved a beautifully made bed, you can fold the layers of bedding back with extra care in the morning - as well as looking fairly neat during the day, this also makes it a treat to get back into bed at night, as the covers are ready-straightened and organised, ooh and sweet (not sweat!) smelling.
