Step 7 - Choose a cheap, basic hairbrush and wash it often.
Buy a super-cheap plastic hairbrush, without posh padding and without 'squishy' bits, to ensure you can wash and fully air-dry your brush with ease. If you care for a simple plastic brush in this way then it will last forever - wooden brushes will get grotty and need replacing.
If you've read my 52StepsEco blog posts, then you'll know that I don't encourage the use of wooden or bamboo items in often-wet areas of the bathroom or kitchen - you'll be constantly renewing them, which isn't good for the planet or for your finances.
Remove stray hair and clean your brush with shampoo (each time you shampoo your hair) to ensure any oily residue isn't transferred back onto clean hair by a dirty / oily brush.
You could instead use a basic, plastic wide-toothed comb, which would be very easy to clean and dry - but combs can snag hair very easily, which isn't great if you are trying to minimise hair loss.
Go and have a look at your trusty hairbrush, I bet it could do with a good de-hair and wash and dry...
