52Eco#16 Make buying loose fruit & veg easier.

If you are lucky enough to have a grocer near you, or if your usual supermarket has started to sell fruit & veg loose, and if (a big if) it is priced reasonably, then buying unwrapped may be another way for you to cut down on the pointless plastic in your life.

If so, then take cotton string-net bags along with you when buying fruit and vegetables.

Then you won't need to resort to the single-use plastic or paper bags provided by the greengrocer or supermarket. Plus using produce bags is easier than either; trying to juggle the loose items in your arms on the way to the till or; scrabbling around the basket / trolley in haste so you don't upset the cashier or the queue forming behind you!

These 4 cotton-mesh bags by Colmaple, sold by Amazon, are pricey but come in a lovely tree-print pouch (which makes me smile every time I see it) - they now seem to be sold with a tree-print shopping bag too! This set of bags is ideal to request / give as a present.

Happy shopping!
