Boots Opticians accept used contact lenses (yes, the used lenses themselves!), the plastic blister packs and the foil backing, as all of their optician stores have Acuvue-sponsored Terracycle recycling collection boxes. The plastic lens-solution bottles are accepted by virtually all council kerbside recycling schemes, so can be recycled at home.
Other opticians accept some but not all contact-lens-related items for recycling , so double check before you deposit items.
Just think how many contact lenses and blister packs end up in landfill each day! This is a really easy eco step which needs sharing with any contact lens wearers you know.
